1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

We act as the data controller for all personal data processed via VT Converter.

2. What Data We Collect

  • Analytics Data (non-identifiable): pages visited, clicks, processing times.
  • Uploaded Content: video/audio files you upload for editing/conversion, plus parameters for output.
  • Support Requests: name, email, subject, message, and optional image/video attachments (when voluntarily provided).

We do not intentionally collect identifying data beyond what’s voluntarily submitted in support cases.

3. Lawful Bases for Processing

  • Performance of a contract - to process and deliver uploaded files.
  • Consent - for storing personal details in support requests until resolution, and for non-essential cookies (including ad personalization where required by law).
  • Legitimate interests - ensuring platform stability, security, and service improvement via anonymised analytics.
  • Legal obligation - where we must comply with applicable laws or lawful authority requests.

4. Data Retention

  • Uploaded Content - will be deleted no later than 24 hours after uploading (usually deleted within 2 hours). Files are stored only for the purpose of allowing users to download them.
  • Support Data - stored until the case closes, then anonymised (contact info removed).
  • Analytics - retained only in aggregated/anonymised form.

5. Security Measures

  • Encrypted transfers via HTTPS and using secured CloudFlare infrastructure.
  • DDoS mitigation via CloudFlare.
  • Secure EU-based servers with restricted access.

6. International Transfers

We store all data in the EU. If accessed outside the EEA, we apply safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

7. Information Sharing

We only share data:

  • When required by law.
  • In the event of a merger/acquisition.

  • Restrict or object to processing, including personalized advertising.
